Get to know Kristin

Peace and Blessings!

I’m Kristin, a Registered Nurse with over 20 years of bedside experience in long-term care. For more than two decades, I personally struggled with chronic pelvic pain, digestive issues, and reproductive challenges. Searching for answers to my mysterious ailments, I came to understand that my symptoms were my body’s way of screaming for help. Through a dedicated journey of discovery, I was able to heal myself and now successfully manage multiple autoimmune conditions through diet. I truly know what it’s like to be sick. Today, I feel better than ever, and my transformation has inspired me to help others find healing and reclaim their health.

Recognizing the critical role of food in health, my journey led me to Andrea Nakayama’s Full Body Systems, a 10-month comprehensive Functional Nutrition immersion program. This was followed by the Functional Nutrition and Lifestyle Practitioner (FNLP) certification program, where I learned concepts never covered in my years of nursing. I became deeply committed to a holistic approach to healing, integrating the science of nutrition with compassionate care.

Now, as a Functional Nutrition Practitioner-BC and Transformative Nurse Coach, I am passionate about using Food as Medicine to empower others and take control of their health. Together, we’ll uncover the root cause of your health challenges and work toward ending your suffering once and for all. I want to be clear—this is not a quick fix. Healing takes time, and chances are, you didn’t arrive here overnight. Be patient with yourself and extend yourself grace as you embark on this journey. There’s no magic pill, but there is hope. Your journey will involve:

  • Education to understand your body’s needs.
  • Stress Reduction to support healing.
  • Diet and Lifestyle Modifications tailored to your unique situation.

You are safe here, and I will be your partner every step of the way. Healing requires effort, but it’s worth it. Together, we’ll help you become the best, healthiest version of yourself.

What is the difference between plant-based and vegan?

What is the difference between plant-based and vegan?

A: You can get plenty of high-quality protein from plant foods like beans, lentils, tofu, tempeh, quinoa, nuts, seeds, and soy products. A varied plant-based diet provides all essential amino acids. Even athletes and older adults can meet protein needs without animal products—no special combining needed.

What's the big deal with eating meat?

What is the difference between plant-based and vegan?

A: Regular meat consumption—especially red and processed types—is linked to increased risks of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and early death.
Meat production also contributes heavily to climate change, deforestation, and water use.
While moderate unprocessed meat can fit into some diets, reducing or replacing it with plants supports both health and environmental sustainability.

Organic? Is it worth the hype?

A: Organic food limits exposure to synthetic pesticides, antibiotics, and GMOs, and may offer environmental benefits like improved soil and water quality.
But nutrition differences are minimal, and it’s often more expensive.
Yes, organic can be worth it—especially for high-residue produce—but eating a variety of fruits and vegetables (organic or not) matters most.

To Soy or not to Soy?

To Soy or not to Soy?

A: Soy is safe, nutritious, and protective—it’s a complete protein with benefits for heart health, hormones, bone density, and metabolism.
It does not harm male hormones and may even reduce cancer risk.
For best results, choose whole and fermented soy (tofu, tempeh, edamame, miso) over ultra-processed soy products.

What is Gluten?

To Soy or not to Soy?

A: Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye that gives bread its chewiness.
It’s safe for most people, but those with celiac disease, wheat allergy, or gluten sensitivity should avoid it.
Going gluten-free isn’t automatically healthier—many gluten-free products are highly processed and low in nutrients.
